George has been working for the past 15 years within sports and events marketing for brands, sports organisations and on the agency side. Most recently, he was Marketing & Communications Director for Surrey County Cricket Club at the Kia Oval, where he pioneered the club’s data driven marketing approach which led to increased ticket, membership and hospitality revenues across all forms of the game. He also worked in business development and community roles over a 10 year period at the club.
Prior to Surrey, George worked in the marketing team for Haymarket Exhibitions, specialising in ticket sales strategy and communications. He started his career at a consumer PR agency working with brands such as Nike, Sprite, Eastpak and Billabong.
He is currently studying for an MBA at Cass Business School, which – all going well – will be complete in March 2017! George has played cricket for almost 30 years and has just finished an extremely average Saturday morning football career as a David Batty-esque defensive midfielder.
